The Legion of Mary is a Marian movement whose objective is to promote the Spiritual Growth of its members. The activities of the legion include Weekly Prayer meetings and Apostolic Work in the Community.

The Legion’s primary objective was given as promoting the spiritual growth of its members. The Legion exercises its mission through undertaking some aspects of apostolic work. Members are asked to complete a minimum of two hours of apostolic work each week. The Legion’s activities are self-funded i.e. by a weekly offering made by its members which currently number twenty-four, 50% of these being auxiliary members. Home meetings are held once monthly.

Among the tasks done are: home visitations, monthly visits to female prison inmates, periodic visits to the Fiennes Institution and to a few registered nursing homes.

Listed among the challenges faced by the group are its need for a spiritual director, the lack of transportation to get around more, and need for more members who would be committed to the mission of the organization.
